If you’re addicted to celebrity gossip, you’ve probably heard by now about Kristen Stewart cheating on fellow “Twilight” star and boyfriend, Robert Pattinson.
According to Radar Online, the once high-profile couple are now in a bitter battle over who will get custody of their rescue dog, Bear.
Pattinson was the one who originally adopted Bear from a shelter near Baton Rouge, La., while he was filming “The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn.” Since his initial adoption last March, Bear contracted Parvo and both Pattinson and Stewart helped the dog fight the potentially fatal disease.
During her time helping Bear battle Parvo, Stewart bonded with the dog so much so that she now doesn’t want to let him go without a fight.
“After Rob moved his things out of their Los Angeles apartment, he then told Kristen he wanted Bear,” an insider told Radar.
“She was heartbroken – they adopted Bear together and she always felt that he was their little baby. But Rob was so hurt by Kristen’s actions he decided that he wants the dog to help him get over what happened. After all, a dog is a man’s best friend and Bear is such a good companion.”
Stewart reportedly wants joint custody of the dog, which could make things more complicated for Pattinson. If Pattison’s name is on Bear’s adoption paperwork, then according to most pet custody laws, he is considered the dog’s legal owner. Sorry, Kristen, but in the eyes of the law, you might not have much of a case.
